Lube 101

Condoms 101

Condoms 101

Glass bottle of Uberlube lubricant

We offer an array of Lube. But, what will work for you?

There are different kind of lubricants

  • Water Based-  The most popular, Easy absorbed in the skin. It is safe for all toys and latex products
  • Silicone Based- More slip and slide stays on the skin surface, good for use in the shower or bath. It can be tricky to clean up after ( use a mild soap and water)
  • Oil Based- Tend to be thicker and heavier than water and silicone-based products. While these types of lubricants may be desirable for those hoping to avoid additives, certain preservatives, parabens, and/or glycerin, they may also increase the risk of bacterial infections when used vaginally.
  • Hybrid -  water-based personal lubricant.  easy to clean, as well as toy and latex friendly, and blended in harmony with a rich bodied silicone.

Lube decreases friction and increases pleasure. It makes anal play possible.

Yellow, Blue and Red condoms

A condom is a thin, fitted tube worn over the penis during sex (male condoms) or inserted into the vagina before sex (female condoms). Condoms can protect you against STDs and HIV. When used properly, male condoms are about 98% effective at preventing pregnancy.

Types of Condoms

  • Latex, plastic, or lambskin -Latex and plastic condoms can protect you from STD's during any kind of sex: vaginal, oral, and anal. Natural or lambskin condoms are made of material that comes from lamb intestines. They prevent pregnancy, but like human skin, they have tiny openings. So they don’t protect you from STDs.
  • Lubricated - Lubrication, or lube, is a thin coating of liquid on the condom. It can prevent pain and irritation during sex, and it can help keep the condom from breaking.
  • Spermicide-coated - This is a chemical, called nonoxynol-9, that kills sperm. Some condoms are sold coated with it. This may lower the risk of pregnancy but the amount of spermicide that comes with a condom probably isn’t enough to make a difference.

White and blue bottle of System JO toy cleaner

Toys should be cleaned-

 Before and After use

Toys can also spread infections, including sexually transmitted infections (STIs), because they can retain bacteria and viruses.  In addition, sex toys can get covered in dust and other particles while they’re stored.

You can use a mild soap or toy cleaner but first you need to find out what type of material the toy is made of. You can divide most sex toys into two broad categories: porous materials and nonporous materials.

You can use soap:

If your toy vibrates, wipe it down with a warm, damp, soapy washcloth. If it doesn’t vibrate (or vibrates but is waterproof), run the toy under warm water and clean it with a soapy washcloth.

You can use toy cleaner :

Apply cleaner directly onto the toy. allow the cleaner to cover the entire surface. Allow 10-15 seconds  to eliminate harmful germs and bacteria. Rinse with warm water and dry completely before storage.
